I don’t think Defensive mode is how the game is intended to be played, so I don’t play it that way. Personally, I take the bad with the good in Red Dead Online. Now here’s a partial list of things I’ve confirmed that you can do in Defensive mode: When the event is finished, you won’t automatically be put back into Defensive mode you’ll have to do that manually.
Note that when you partake in any of these listed events, you will be automatically put into Offensive mode. (Additionally, you can’t go into Defensive mode if your hostility is too high.)Īre there any downsides to playing in Defensive mode? Well, there aren’t really downsides, per se, but there are some caveats.įor one, there are some activities that will kick you out of Defensive mode.
Presumably, this is set up this way so you can’t harm another player then quickly switch to Defensive mode before they can retaliate. Note that there’s a 30-second delay between the time you toggle it and the time it actually activates.
